The mountain framed in a window calls to the viewer that there is a bigger world waiting for them outside, one in which they can join a larger community on a journey to new heights. The font is customized with a few key details and the icon can also work independently as a design element.
For the New Heights logo, I also created an animated logo bumper video complete with custom audio to use at the beginning and/or end of video content.
The font is friendly, approachable, and personable while still maintaining some professionalism. The flame icon represents passion and energy while making a visual reference to the biblical imagery of prayer rising up toward heaven like smoke from burning incense. The base can be interpreted as two hands raised in prayer or as a basin for incense. The icon can also work independently as a design element.
God With Us was a collaboration between a writing team and a group of musicians to create a 25-day Christmas experience. I oversaw the project and led a small team of writers in creating a devotional reflecting on the meaning of Christmas through the lens of classic Christmas hymns. I also worked with a group of musicians to arrange and record those same hymns in a style that reflected New Heights Church. The album was released on Spotify and other streaming platforms while the devotional was distributed to the church and also sold online. The design style is meant to evoke old hymnals from years gone by.
The Questions is a teaching series addressing modern questions about faith and the Bible. Visually, I wanted the design to evoke ideas of modern technology, computer-generated content, and the AI revolution. The intro video is intentionally jarring, and the graphics for slides continue the same visual look.
21 Days with The Lord's Prayer is a devotional book that I coauthored with several other writers. The cover design is intentionally sparse, with the dominant white space acting as a visual cue to the silence and stillness required for the content inside. Section pages inside echo that sparse design, while small design elements guide the reader along each reading.
I created an intro video to set up a series of speakers teaching on a variety of parables in the Bible, as well as slides for use in presentation. Parables are very short stories with a punchline, much like comic strips, so I drew a bunch of comic-style scenes from different parables.
